Katrina Kaif can finally heave a deep sigh of relief. Her much talked about steamy scene with Gulshan Grover in her debut film Boom won’t come out.

The actress has dismissed the rumour that the DVD of her first film will be re-released with the full-length steamy scene she shot with Gulshan Grover. In the scene, Katrina is seen seducing Grover. She unbuttons her shirt in front of him and tempts him.

When Boom (2003) was released, it created uproar among audiences who did not hesitate to badmouth the film. The film featured fresh and beautiful faces (and bodies) of Padma Lakshmi (Salman Rushdie’s ex-girlfriend), Madhu Sapre (top 3 in 1992 Miss Universe pageant) & Katrina Kaif (who became a star much later) but critics believe they were wasted and under exploited. Even veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan was not spared the ridicule. It seems as if the film was possibly made on a high.

The question that begs to be asked is why the makers want to release a fresh DVD when it’s not exactly a hot selling item. Says an industry source, ‘It is clear that the makers of Boom want to cash in on Katrina’s success. She is a top actress now and naturally there will be curiosity about a steamy scene she did, when she was a newcomer.” It’s just another way to make a quick buck at her expense.
