Almost 2 million protesters have participated in “Friday of the Last Chance” in Assiteen Street in the capital Sana'a and demanded the departure of President Saleh and his regime.

Many protesters told News Yemen they were surprised with the “unprecedented” number of people from all districts of the capital Sana'a “to say to President Saleh that he has no more time for maneuvers.”

Speaker in Friday's sermon has urged Gulf states, Europe and United States to support Yemeni people, “not President Saleh.” The speaker hailed Germany for its clear support to Yemeni people “who want to build a modern civil state,” assuring Gulf states, European countries and U.S. that Yemeni people will remain a friend, partner and cooperative neighbor.

In a short speech to his supporters in al-Sabeen Square, President Saleh has welcomed the Gulf Arab plan for a transition of power, but said that should be in accordance with the Yemeni constitution. He said he would encounter his rivals with all means.

In Taiz, estimate 2 million protesters also participated in the last Friday for the regime in addition to hundreds of thousands of protesters in other 15 provinces.

The upcoming days might witness more escalation by youth in protest squares across the country to put end to 33-year-long regime.
