In celebration of Les Paul‘s 96th birthday Google has released a special Google doodle on their homepage, Google.com.

The doodle is a playable guitar that allows you to not only play the guitar right on the page but record what you play. eaturing Jimmy Page, Noel Gallagher, Neil Young, Pete Townshend, Gigwise's tribute shows the Les Paul being played as it was meant to be - on stage.

Les Paul died in 2009 and tributes were paid from across the musical world, including U2's The Edge, who said his “influence on Rock and Roll will never be forgotten”.
